I have bought a calender. Each month is in a page, and in each page there's a picture (by Ardeshir Rostami) and also a poem by a famous Iranian poet, both in Farsi and in English. For Ordibehesht it has a poem by Foroogh Farokhzad.

Arbaiin, was the day that all Imam Hoseyn's family who were prisoners in Sham (now in Syria) and were going back to Medina (where they lived befor the war), passed Karbala and they went to visit the tombs and they cried a lot there. But it is said that, it can't be correct. Because it is impossible that after 40 days they could have reached Karbala again. It is said that it is completely wrong or may be it has been in the next year. Azam asks why we don't have this ceremony for other Imams. I think it's somehow clear.
You see that there is no wedding party for two months here. For which Imam do you have this? And I'm sure you've heard that even in Imams' birthday which should be a happy ceremony, they recall Imam Hosein and they cry!

Today is the Arbaiin Of Imam Hossein (means 40th day of his death ),Imam Hossein is third one among 12 Imams which shiite believe on,was killed at Karbala with 72 of his fans, I saw pictures on TV today, which Shiites of Iraq after 30 years could go to karbala and mourn there,now coalition forces can say we give this liberty to them ....
There is sth interesting in this mourning, I don't know why we (I means shittes) mourn 40th day for Imam Hossein?You know in our culture when sb dies , we have ceremonies(is it correct to use this word?) for his/her burial,third,7th and 40th day after his\her death,and after that, every year at the death day.So only the first year we have arbaiin or chehelom , and Imam Hossein died about 14 centuries age.Also this ceremony can not be because of he is a Imam, because for the other 10 Imams (according to our belief the last one is alive), even for our prophet we don't have such a thing, only their death day is honored. I'm trying to find why?If you know anything please tell me.
Today was Sa'di's Day. The first of Ordibehesht. The first reason to call it so, as I have heard, is that he has a very famous text, that starts with "The first of Ordibehesht" and then he starts to describe the nature, which is in its best form in Shiraz in that time of year, and that's the second reason. Sa'di is as they say the best sonnet poet. What I like in his peoms is his sense of humor and smart metaphors.
Sina Motallebi has been arrested , he is a journalist, this is his first fault, he has worked for some of the newspapers which were closed in these 3 years.He has also had a famous weblog , maybe his second fault, this is the first time that sb is asked about his/her weblog, maybe this shows the power of weblogs in the Communication Age.
